It’s always the innocent who pay the price…

A school filled with students was bombed in broad day light

I wonder what threat the innocent children would have been,

Who had no weapons but books in their bags.

Those innocent faces who kissed their parent’s cheek before leaving for school

They didn’t know, that this was the last kiss, they wouldn’t return

Their delicate bodies lay under the rubble of the bombed school building

They would have had big dreams just like any other child

They never knew that they would never grow up

These bloody leaders, they don’t care

Committing innumerable war crimes, yet they continue

No one to jail them, to punish them for their ugly crimes

They don’t feel the misery of people who lose their loved ones

They wipe out communities of innocent civilians

Blood thirsty leaders they have all the power

They silent folks who speak against them

They have made the earth no less than hell

It’s always the innocents who pay the price

For the brutal actions of these bloody leaders

Those blood smeared bags of the martyred children

Are waiting to be hung on the backs of the owners

Little do they know, their owners were made to sleep forever

The bags lay still, unmoved, just like their owners do..
