Inside A23D: The largest Production-Ready 3D Asset Library
A23D is a 3D asset library with more than 550,000 production-ready assets across 625+ categories, available on an unlimited-download subscription. Every asset is modeled by our in-house team of 3D artists — no AI-generated geometry, no scraped uploads of varying quality.
That second part is the whole reason we built it this way, and it’s worth explaining before getting into the catalog.

The problem we’re trying to solve
If you’ve assembled a scene from a general marketplace, you know the routine. You buy five models from five sellers. One has 400k triangles for a coffee cup. One has the pivot floating three meters above the mesh. Two have flipped normals you don’t notice until the render comes back with black patches. One ships with a stray point light baked into the FBX that quietly blows out your lighting setup.
None of that is a modeling problem. It’s a consistency problem, and it’s the tax you pay for buying from a thousand different artists with a thousand different habits.
Our answer is boring and structural: one team, one standard. Clean topology, accurate real-world scale, sensible pivots, correct normals, no orphaned lights or cameras hiding in the file. We’re not claiming magic — we’re claiming that assets should behave the same way every time you import one.
Is that worth a subscription to you? Depends entirely on how much of your week currently goes to cleanup. If the answer is “more than an hour,” the math gets obvious fast.
What’s actually in the library
Four asset types, meant to be used together rather than as separate product lines.
3D models — 420,000+ Furniture, props, vehicles, architecture, nature, industrial, and more.
PBR textures and materials — 100,000+ Seamless surfaces, calibrated to physically accurate values.
Decals — 14,000+ Wear, grime, signage, and the surface storytelling detail that sells a shot.
IES lighting profiles — 10,000+ Real-world luminaire falloff for interior and product lighting.
The decal and IES libraries are the ones people overlook. IES profiles in particular are the cheapest realism upgrade in archviz — a real luminaire’s light distribution is lumpy and directional, and swapping a generic spotlight for a measured profile changes an interior render more than another 30 minutes of material tweaking will. The IESNA standard exists precisely because manufacturers measure this stuff properly, and using those measurements instead of guessing is free realism.
Decals do similar work on surfaces. A perfectly clean wall reads as CG instantly. Add a scuff near the baseboard and a water stain under the window and your brain stops questioning it.
Materials that don’t need re-tuning per renderer
Here’s a workflow annoyance that eats more time than anyone admits: a material looks right in Cycles, then you open the same scene in V-Ray and the roughness reads completely differently. Or the metalness is fine in Unreal but plastic-looking in Corona.
Usually it’s because the source textures weren’t calibrated to physically plausible values in the first place. Albedo maps with baked-in lighting. Roughness maps authored by eyeballing a slider. Metalness maps that are grey when they should be binary.
We build our PBR textures to physically accurate values so they behave consistently across renderers without per-engine babysitting. You’ll still make artistic adjustments — that’s the job — but you shouldn’t be fighting the material just to get it back to neutral.
Textures also ship seamless-tiling with multiple resolution levels, so you’re not loading 8K maps for a background object that occupies forty pixels.
Formats and software support
The library exports to FBX, GLTF, USD, and OBJ, with textures in JPG, PNG, and EXR, PBR maps embedded. We maintain one-click import plugins for the main DCCs.

The USD support matters more each year. If you’re running a pipeline that touches Omniverse or any modern collaborative workflow, USD is increasingly the format that holds everything together, and we’d rather ship it properly now than bolt it on later.
Who it’s for (and who it isn’t)
Good fit:
- Archviz artists who need furniture, fixtures, and vegetation on deadline
- Game developers who want game-ready optimization rather than film-density meshes to retopologize
- Studios with multiple artists who need everyone pulling from the same standard — our licensing is set up for team pipelines
- Motion and VFX creators filling out set dressing that isn’t hero geometry
Less good fit:
- You need one very specific hero asset and nothing else. A subscription for a single download is bad value — buy it à la carte somewhere.
- Your work is entirely bespoke character or creature modeling. Prop libraries don’t help you.
- You need photogrammetry scans of specific real-world locations. That’s a different category of tool and we’re not it.
We’d rather say that plainly than pretend a library solves every problem. We solve the set dressing and surfacing problem, which happens to be where most of the unglamorous hours go.
The subscription model, briefly
Downloads are unlimited on subscription, and there’s a free tier if you want to test our asset quality before committing. Honestly, that’s the sane way to evaluate any library — pull three or four free assets into your actual scene, in your actual renderer, and see whether the topology and materials hold up under your lighting.
Don’t evaluate an asset library from thumbnails. Ours included. Thumbnails are lit by someone who knows exactly how to hide problems. Import the mesh, hit wireframe, look at the pivot, check the normals. Two minutes tells you more than an hour of browsing.
Where to start
Grab something from our free assets tier and stress-test it in whatever you’re building right now. Check the scale against a known reference. See whether the material needs tweaking in your renderer or drops in clean.
That’s the only test that actually matters, and it costs you nothing but a coffee break.
