I Cheated on WordPress with Carrd

Using a no-code option to create a simple one-page website

For most of my business life, I’ve used WordPress to develop unique online spaces for my clients. From hand-coding websites to building with WordPress, I’ve seen the changes in web development firsthand.

My how things have changed.

Because WordPress is my bread and butter, I mostly shied away from other platforms because each has quirks and learning curves.

Now, with a large variety of no-code options, that is not the case, and it’s even easier to get a starter site up and running.

I needed to create a simple landing page for my new newsletter signup. I needed two pages: the signup and a thank-you redirect.

Looking for opinions on the top options others have used, I turned to the Minimalist Hustler HQ Skool Community (affiliate) for recommendations.

Carrd emerged as the top choice.

I dug into the platform and found that after a slight learning curve, I had my page set up quickly. Because it included a form, I did need to upgrade a level, but the small fee was well worth it.

The snag came with the thank-you page redirect. I opted for a Carrd-branded thank-you URL to keep things simple this go around.

There is a way around that if using WordPress, but I wanted to complete the simple two pages with Carrd only.

While I could have easily solved this with WordPress, setting up a site with plugins and themes felt overkill for a simple landing page.

WordPress is fantastic for those comfortable with the platform but can be intimidating for beginners.

WordPress remains my go-to for complex websites and clients needing customization. Its flexibility makes it easy to build unique and scalable websites.

While I remain a WordPress advocate, the ease and affordability of no-code platforms like Carrd have impressed me.
