Hello, Medium — And Welcome to My Debug Diary

This feels a little surreal to write, but here we are. My first article on any publication.

I’m Harper Elise Callahan, a Lead Front-End Engineer based in Austin, and after spending more than a decade building eCommerce experiences, I’ve finally decided it’s time to start sharing some of that knowledge here. You may have landed here through my publication, Debug Diary, and if so, I’m glad you’re here.

From this point forward, there’s a good chance you’ll see more of my writing — thoughts, lessons, breakdowns, fixes, and the occasional reminder that one missing bracket can derail an entire day. My goal is simple: to share technical insights in a way that helps businesses understand the problems they’re facing and gives them enough clarity to solve them on their own or with the help of a junior developer.

Why I’m Starting This Publication

After years of working with eCommerce brands — large and small — I’ve realized something: many of the issues teams struggle with aren’t unsolvable. They just need the right explanation, the right pattern, or the right nudge in the right direction.

That’s what I want this space to become:
