How To Get The Bridgerton Home Aesthetic

Season 3 of Bridgerton is upon us, which can mean only one thing — I need to be entirely immersed in the ton, immediately. I need luxury, romance, and lavishness. ‘Sounds great! But I don’t have a Bridgerton budget…’ I hear you say.

Fear not, dear readers! Neither do I.

I am here to let you in on some tips that will help transform your home into a Bridgerton-inspired haven. The key is going to be in mixing Regency-era decor with modern touches to create a timeless and sophisticated atmosphere, just on a wee bit of a smaller scale.*

Opulence and charm are the themes of the season; and Queen Charlotte’s diamond will not be a beautiful debutante, but rather, this list I’ve written. It has everything you need to know about achieving that Bridgerton-inspired look.

1. Color Palette

Neutrals: Incorporate creams, whites, and soft grays as a base for your color scheme.

Pastels and Jewel Tones: Use soft pastel colors like powder blue, blush pink, and mint green, alongside rich jewel tones like emerald green, royal blue, and deep burgundy.

2. Furniture

Antique and Vintage Pieces: Look for Regency-style furniture — intricate carvings, curved lines, and elegant legs. Think chaise lounges, upholstered armchairs, and delicate side tables — any local online marketplace so a brilliant way to stumble across a bargain!

Wood Finishes: Opt for dark woods like mahogany, rosewood, and walnut to add a sense of richness and history.

3. Fabrics

Luxurious Textiles: Use rich fabrics like velvet, silk, and brocade for upholstery, drapery, and pillows. Embroidered and damask patterns add an opulent touch, too. I’d recommend the velvet ‘Emerson’ pillows from Rugs Direct, they do the trick beautifully.

The jewel tones in these are wonderful as a ‘mismatched’ set.

Chintz and Floral Patterns: Incorporate floral prints and chintz fabrics for a quintessentially Regency look.

Here’s a bedding set that screams Bridgerton to me — the florals and striped edges give a cottagecore look, too. But if busy patterns aren’t your thing, no worries; I’ve found another example that’s more plain but still plays up to the love of frills (you won’t miss out there).

In other news, this tablecloth should get you falling in love with toile, and here’s a pillow that I found would match beautifully — I’m picturing a sunny breakfast nook!

4. Walls

Wallpaper: Choose wallpaper with classical patterns, such as toile, damask, or botanical motifs. Or, you can use painted wall panels to mimic the look of traditional wall coverings.

I’d recommend Wallism.com — they have around 10,000 different designs, and I quickly came across some that would be perfect for a Bridgerton inspired room, if you’re looking to go big with it! Look at how beautiful these prints are 💫

Wainscoting and Molding: Add architectural interest with wainscoting, crown molding, and decorative trim.

Gallery walls: If you have the time, patience and eye for it, why not try your hand at creating a gallery wall?!

Here’s some tools from Amazon that would be a good jumping off point — all you need are some Victorian / Regency Era prints like these (or these), and some gold frames.

5. Lighting

Chandeliers and lamps: Install crystal chandeliers or ornate light fixtures to add a touch of glamour. I’ve included some below that are super accessible as they’re all available on Amazon; and as easy as it is to style white, I have to say I’m most partial to anything in green 💚.

Candles and Sconces: Make use of candelabras, candle holders, and wall sconces to create soft, romantic lighting. These pastel candles are great for a summery touch, and almost perfectly match our beloved Bridgerton characters!

6. Accessories

Gilded Mirrors and Frames: Think gold-framed mirrors, paintings, and photo frames.

Fine China and Porcelain: Collect some delicate china and porcelain pieces to put on shelves or in glass-front cabinets. Don’t be afraid of getting whimsical with it, either— this ‘Mamma Duck’ teapot from NOVICA is a prime example. It’s on theme, with a bit extra. My aim is always to fill my home with interesting pieces that grab attention, and get a reaction out of me.

Books and Games: Stack classic literature and art books on tables and shelves. Get a chess board, either a classic wooden like this one, or perhaps even a marble one, and get to learning the game, girl! A few vintage / thrifted packs of playing cards don’t go amiss on display if they come in nice boxes (which so many do). 7. Floors

8. Gardens and Greenery

Indoor Plants: Bring in ferns, potted topiaries, and other lush greenery to add life to your space. If you don’t have a green finger then cut all the fuss by getting a bunch of artificial plants to dot about. These yellow hanging plants are very ‘Penelope’, meanwhile these white wisteria and purple wisteria garlands would be stunning no matter what character’s your fave!

Floral Arrangements: Arrange fresh flowers in a Regency era vase to echo the romantic, fresh feel of Bridgerton. My favorite type of plant to have everywhere is pampas grass — an instant vintage element in any home. I get these!

9. Windows

Heavy Drapes and Curtains: Use floor-length drapes in luxurious fabrics, often with tassels and tiebacks, to frame windows.

Sheer Curtains: Layer heavy drapes with sheer curtains to allow light to filter in, as well as give you some privacy. These white sheer curtains are so romantic and delicate, and these floral linen drapes are a nice alternative for the colder months.

10. Personal Touches

Vintage-inspired Trinkets: Include vintage-inspired items such as ornate boxes, jewelry trays, antique clocks, and decorative fans.

Seasonal Decor: Change your decor seasonally to reflect the Bridgerton ball seasons, adding festive elements like garlands and wreaths during appropriate times.

By blending all of these elements, you can create a home that delivers the elegance and charm of the Bridgerton era, while still feeling comfortable and inviting.
