Just a short poem

It’s daylight and I step out Prowling as if a lost scout No soul in sight This gives me a fright And then I see it As if carved on the grit Moving besides, behind Or leading me ahead Playing along Jiving with my song Promising togetherness Of a lifetime not any less.

I had written this poem in 2011 while I was learning to navigate the challenges of a relationship. A part of me sometimes felt lonely at the time, and my free expression via written words was like a true inner connection that I tried to seek outside.
