NetBox SecureCRT Inventory Sync is an open-source tool designed to automate the synchronization between NetBox, a leading network infrastructure modeling application, and SecureCRT, a popular terminal emulation program. It ensures that any changes made in NetBox are reflected in SecureCRT when needed, eliminating the need for manual updates and reducing the risk of discrepancies.​

• Automated Synchronization: It can run in the background, performing periodic synchronizations to keep your SecureCRT sessions up-to-date with NetBox. Alternatively, you can trigger synchronizations on-demand to suit your workflow.​
• Flexible Configuration: With a highly customizable configuration, you can define how your device structure is organized within SecureCRT, allowing the tool to adapt to your specific needs.​
• Console Ports: If you have console servers it’s possible to synchronize each port as a separate session, providing quick access to console when needed.

Getting Started

To get started with NetBox SecureCRT Inventory Sync do the following:

1. Download the Latest Release from the GitHub repository and unzip it on your computer.​
2. Create a configuration file named .securecrt-inventory.yaml and put it in your home directory. Update the netbox_url and netbox_token fields to match your NetBox instance. Customize other settings as needed to fit your environment.​
3. Execute the program to initiate the synchronization process. The tool will handle the rest.
4. Optional: Set it to startup automatically on boot.
