📌A Family Recipe for Success In 1962, a family kitchen in rural Maharashtra became the birthplace of Nilon’s, a food processing giant. Brothers Suresh and Prafful Sanghavi, armed with an agricultural degree and family experience in wartime food production, embarked on a culinary adventure.

📌Their initial 1,500-acre lemon orchard provided fruit for cordials and juices, but a government land act forced them to adapt. Undeterred, they transformed their dinner table into a lab, experimenting with squashes, jams, and jellies under the brand “Nilon’s,” named after the innovative synthetic fibre — Nylon of the time.

📌Pickles Early struggles led to Prafful suggesting closure in 1965. However, Suresh’s unwavering vision led them to a turning point: pickles. In 1966, they secured lucrative military contracts for all four pickle categories, necessitating a 7,000-square-foot factory. By 1970, pickles became their flagship product.

📌Tutti Fruti Another stroke of luck came with candied papaya, later known as tutti-frutti. A visiting distributor recognized its potential as a paan ingredient, leading to unexpected success in the paan market and beyond. Nilon’s capitalized by becoming the world’s leading manufacturer of papaya-based candy fruit.

📌Setbacks & Success Despite setbacks like the failed “Njoy” drink launch, Nilon’s persevered. After Suresh’s passing, his son Dipak ensured a smooth transition. Today, Nilon’s offers a diverse range of products, a testament to the Sanghavi brothers’ spirit of innovation, resilience, and their unwavering belief in good food
