Everyone is using AI without fully knowing where it is going. Here is how to make that uncertainty useful.

When you read about how fast AI is moving, does it feel more like opportunity, or more like being underwater?

For most people, the honest answer is both.

Even the organizations that seem to have AI figured out are still learning as they go. They just sound more confident while doing it.

A 2026 Forbes Tech Council report found that the companies turning AI uncertainty into an advantage are the ones who made a deliberate decision to treat uncertainty as information, rather than as a problem to eliminate.

And the AI fog? We all are into the same boat, learning to navigate it together.

What those organizations have in common

They experiment before they invest.

They do not wait for a perfect strategy before acting.

They run small, low-cost tests on real workflows, learn what works and what does not, and then scale only what earns it.

The conviction comes from evidence, not assumption.

They build for adaptability rather than betting everything on one model, one vendor, or one use case.

When DeepSeek arrived in January 2026, it changed cost assumptions across the AI industry by showing that a much cheaper model could still deliver frontier-level performance. Organizations with flexible AI systems adapted quickly. The ones who had locked everything into one approach did not have that option.

They make AI decisions at the team level, not just the executive level. The people closest to the actual work are where the most valuable AI insights come from.

The organizations adapting fastest are the ones who create space for those insights to travel upward, rather than waiting for strategy to flow down.

One thing you can do right now

Write down the three biggest uncertainties you have about AI in your work or business today. Not things you wish experts would explain, but actual uncertainties that are influencing decisions you are trying to make.

Then ask: what would I need to learn in the next 30 days to cut that uncertainty in half?

Go learn those things. Come back to your list. See if anything looks different.

Start there. Strategy can join later.

The fog is not going to clear on its own — if anything, it will get thicker. The only way through is to get better at navigating it.
