What is my Future Prospect with HIV Disease?
Your Health is in Your hands. Now, HIV is no more a Life threatening disease if treated at the right time.
Will I die because of HIV Infection?
No. If you take proper medication and follow suggestions for your doctor.
Present situation is not like in the years 1980 to 1990s
Now, no need to worry about death because of AIDS infection
Can I Have a normal life?
Yes absolutely, but with small adjustments. And practising safe sex with your life partner.
What about Sexual Relationships?
It’s your responsibility to inform them that you are HIV positive. You can even take the suggestion of your counselors before informing your life partner.
What do I do know?
- Inform the person from whom you got infection and also inform the person with whom you have a sexual relationship.
- Follow all the suggestions of your counselor or Doctor
- Taking all the medicines prescribed by your doctor
Can I keep Working?
You may. But it’s always better to discuss with your Doctor
What is the difference between HIV and AIDS?
AIDS : Highly infected HIV or the next stage of HIV is AIDS.
The person who has AIDS will have HIV infection but all the HIV infected doesn’t have AIDS
How does HIV infection spread?
It spreads in 4 ways
- Unprotected Sex
- Through HIV infected person blood
- Injected Drugs
- From HIV infected mother to baby at the time of delivery or time of pregnancy / After delivery, due to breastfeeding from mother to child
In what ways the infection does not spread?
HIV infection will not spread
- By living in the same house
- by using the same toilets
- Working in the same office
- Or even by hugging
How can HIV infection be prevented?
It is a totally Preventable disease.

What is Pre-exposure prophylaxis?
Means, Can we use HIV medicines as a safe side before we get HIV?
It is not yet confirmed completely and it may take some more time.
Why is’t there a cure?
HIV is not 100% curable. Because, one a person gets infected with HIV, these viruses will produce crores of viruses daily in his body.
Some viruses will hide in remote places of your body and escape from medicine.So, these viruses can not be destroyed completely. We can only control it from spreading.
What does CD4 count mean?
Every person will be having an immune system and the immune system continuously fights with diseases spreading viruses, bacteria , cancer cells and others.
In this immune system, CD4 is an important white blood cell. system And the HIV virus attacks these CD4 cells and reduces the count of CD4 cells.
