Do they seem like two opposite sides of a coin? In some context yes. Or just yet another pavement of civilization and capitalization that has forced us to turn against each other? People who prefer to visit temples on the weekends seem sanskari, but what if they remember the lord because life is difficult and they just want to ask for yet another thing from the store of the temple, just like from a grocery store — because these wishes are not stocked up in any aisle?

People who prefer to go to malls are seen as modern. They spend money to fulfill their wants, to spend money after earning it through the whole week, to feel liberated and remind themselves this is why we go to jobs. To serve as a motivation to not dread Mondays, to not feel like smacking their boss’s face in, because we have credit card bills to pay.

Which is right, and which is wrong? Is it the context, or is it judgment? Everything followed in the past is considered true, and everything new seems scary. But dwelling in the past is what causes regret, and the future is what we work for and look towards.

Is this where the grey area is brought to fruition?
