Beyond Prophecy: The Urgent Need for Truth and Accountability

Nigeria is experiencing significant hardship, yet there is little public discussion.

Each day, families face hunger and lives are lost due to increasing insecurity. Fear is now common, and daily survival is a challenge.

Since the All Progressives Congress came to power, many Nigerians have experienced greater hardship. Prices continue to rise, jobs are scarce, and hope is increasingly out of reach.

This leads to a difficult question:

Who is speaking up for the people?

Many trusted moral leaders have chosen comfort over courage. Rather than challenging those in power, they provide explanations that reassure authority while overlooking suffering.

They call it famine.

They cite Genesis 12:10. “And there was a famine in the land…”

However, they do not continue.

They overlook that faith requires action. They overlook that truth must be expressed. They overlook that both spiritual and political leadership require responsibility.

This situation is more than famine. This is more than prophecy.

However, their efforts end there.

This situation extends beyond famine. It is more than a matter of prophecy.

It involves genuine pain, hunger, and fear.

When misused, words can cause harm. They can undermine resilience, even as people face physical challenges. They can lead people to accept situations that should be questioned.

Faith was never meant to be an escape from reality. It is intended to address reality directly.

The people are not asking for perfect leaders. They are asking for honest voices. They seek voices that speak the truth, even when it is difficult. They want honesty, not suffering concealed by spiritual language.

Ultimately, silence in the face of suffering is not faith. It is a failure.
