Congratulations, once again, on your resumption. We’ll keep saying this until it finally sinks because, as it stands, many of us still haven’t accepted that school is back in session. And it’s even more daunting to face exams almost immediately.

While it’s no news that the exam period is a trying time for many students, the long academic gap has even made this period even more frustrating.

Here are some of the struggles you might be facing at the moment:

  • There’s not enough time to cover everything you’ve learned in class: These people really didn’t expect you to read during the strike, did they?
  • You don’t even have the materials: And everyone else is using theirs. Even the ones you have aren’t reliable and not enough.
  • There are just too many distractions, and you’re finding it difficult to concentrate: There are so many things you need to handle alongside exams, and it’s challenging to balance the equation.
  • You are hardly getting any sleep: We know you’ve had more than enough time to sleep during the holiday. Now, it’s time to stay awake. But, unfortunately, those long hours of sleep can’t make up for the lack of sleep you’re currently experiencing.
  • You’re nervous: For you, exams and a nervous breakdown are always in the same sentence. Pounding heartbeat, clammy fingers, jitters, and a disturbed stomach are some of your symptoms around this period.

The list is endless! And we understand. These are some things you can try out to overcome this trying time:

No matter what, try tothis few tips, and they will make your exams a little less stressful.

  1. Get enough sleep. Sleep deprivation will make you tired, sluggish, irritable, and unable to concentrate. Moreover, you’ll go through poor memory retention for whatever you study.
  2. Eat well: We aren’t talking junk food and sugary snacks. We mean a proper diet containing all the necessary nutrients. Incorporate more leafy greens and fresh fruits into your diet.
  3. Read enough: If you don’t have enough resources, you have the Internet to help you. You can carry out some research online and also get past questions that might be of help.
  4. Take short breaks: in between study time and do something interesting. Don’t wear out your brain trying to cram so many things simultaneously.

Finally, relax. Calm down. It’s exams and not Armageddon. As long as you’ve dotted your I’s and crossed your T’s, there’s no need to be nervous. You’ll do just fine!
