Why I STARTED taking WRITING SERIOUSLY
I THINK YOU SHOUD TOO
There was a point where I realized I was consuming more than I was creating.
I spent hours scrolling through content online — articles, videos, opinions, advice — watching people share ideas, build audiences, and create opportunities for themselves through words. At some point, I started asking myself a simple question: what am I putting out there for others to consumed. I guess this came from me always wanting to be valuable or in this case add value wherever I found myself. The writing space was not any different.
For a long time, writing was something I have been involved with, she wasn’t a stranger to me. From basic school assignments to letters, writing poems, it graduated to shot stories, research articles, all my friends would read them and be wowed, but putting it out there was a different fish to fry. I never really considered writing as something I could seriously pursue.
I think part of the reason was fear.
Fear of others not been wowed by my prowess, fear of putting it out and not getting likes and comments. I forgot the reward of art is in the ability to do it and not the accolades accompanied by it. oh yes, writing is an art, at least it is to me. The internet makes good writing look effortless. You read a polished article or a powerful story and forget that someone probably spent hours rewriting, deleting, and refining every paragraph. As a beginner, it’s easy to compare your rough first draft to someone else’s finished work and immediately feel behind.

But eventually, I realized something important:
Every good writer started as someone who wasn’t very good yet.
That changed the way I looked at writing.
I stopped thinking of writing as talent and started seeing it as a skill — something developed through consistency, observation, and practice. The same way people improve at business, fitness, or communication, they can improve at writing too. Around the same time, I also started paying closer attention to my life, habits, and goals.
I became more interested in things like discipline, personal finance, self-improvement, and building useful skills online. I realized writing connected naturally with all of those interests. Writing forces you to think clearly. It forces you to slow down and organize your thoughts instead of letting them stay scattered in your head.
And honestly, I needed that.
Modern life can feel noisy. Everyone has opinions. Everyone is rushing. Everyone is reacting. Writing became one of the few things that made me sit still long enough to think properly.
It became clear to me that writing is one of the most valuable skills someone can develop today. Not just for work, but for life in general.

Good writing improves communication. It improves thinking. It improves confidence. It helps you express ideas more effectively in conversations, online, and professionally.
So instead of waiting until I felt “ready,” I decided to start.
That’s what this article really represents.
Not perfection. Not expertise. Just a decision to take the process seriously.
I know I still have a lot to learn. My writing will improve over time. My ideas will evolve. Some articles will probably be better than others. But I’d rather start imperfectly than spend years overthinking something I genuinely want to pursue.
This is the beginning of that process.
Through this space, I want to write about everyday life, personal growth, finance, wellbeing, discipline, and the realities of trying to become better in a world full of distractions.
And maybe, somewhere along the way, I’ll become a better writer too.
