Porchfest Promotional and Social Media Poster Design

Creating A Dynamic and Engaging Poster

Spring 2026

Project Overview

Our goal was to create a poster for Historic Athens Porchfest to create an enticing piece of marketing copy they could use for promotion. We had to create a poster in two formats. One a square and one a 4k rectangle for social media. This created a unique but fun challenge for us, given a main factor in our design is houses, a la Porchfest. So we began with our design system and started there. Thanks to the awesome work of one of our group members, Anna Pham, we had great logos to work with.

After starting there we took assets from our visit to Porchfest in 2025 and came up with two rounds of designs. Overall I think we created dynamic posters that Porchfest can use to promote their event in 2026.

The Problem

Historic Athens did not have previous consistent social media graphics that could be easily tweaked with and adjusted for future needs. Their branding also lacked a bit of consistency so creating social media assets seemed like a natural next step for us. They also needed physical marketing materials that they could re-use in between when they get the art from a local artist.

The Solution

We decided to combine the framework from our brand kit, the assets we gathered from 2025, and the existing art and style from the 2025 and previous Porchfest events to create the result you can see in Figure 3. We created a square poster and a 4k social media poster using the adobe suite of products. I think the utilization of the fun “front yard vibe” really set the tone for Porchfest future marketing materials.

Results

The Historic Athens team was very happy with what we produced for them and as you can see below the two posters turned out pretty well in my humble opinion. The QR code was a bit tricky to try to fit onto them but we made it work. Overall I think Historic Athens can get some good use out of the materials we made for them.
