The Theft and Xcover’s Heartless Exploitation

My nightmare began with a theft abroad. My backpack — with my laptop, camera, the tools of my livelihood — was gone. I naively believed “travel insurance” meant being protected. Xcover proved me wrong. Laptop? Not covered, apparently. Even a minimal amount of cash to get by? Excluded. As for the rest? Forget it. They lowballed me with “depreciation” excuses, minimizing my loss as if I was selling used junk, not a victim of crime.

When Bad Luck Gets Kicked Down

My jacket got stolen in Brazil. Another setback, more expenses I hadn’t budgeted for. You can probably guess Xcover’s response: Not. Our. Problem. Turns out, real insurance helps when things go wrong, Xcover only cares about finding reasons to say no.

The Airport: A Kafkaesque Nightmare

This brings us to the airport debacle. Despite having proof of onward travel, Colombia’s rigid rules left me stranded like a criminal. Forced to abandon my original plans, I scrambled to find a ticket I could afford while stuck in Panama. Travel delay, added costs — none of it mattered to Xcover. It was yet another example of their heartless system designed to leave you holding the bag.

Revolut: Complicity in the Scam

Revolut was worse than useless. “Escalations” were a cruel joke, leading nowhere. They chose Xcover, a company notorious for denying claims, then washed their hands of the consequences. They smiled when I signed up, but when I needed actual help, they hid behind their partners’ fine print.

You Are Not a Policy Number, You Are a Target

I’m not alone! Search online, and you’ll find countless stories of Xcover’s tricks. Revolut? They don’t care, they just want your money. I’m fighting back, not just for myself, but to expose this cynical game. They see us as walking liabilities, not customers. That needs to change.

Don’t Become Another Victim

Before you fall for Revolut’s slick marketing, do your homework:

Demand Details: Don’t let “insurance” fool you. Dig deep into the policy.

Investigate the Insurer: Are they known for denials? Do they have a trail of angry customers?

Fight Back: Companies like Xcover and Revolut bank on us giving in. Don’t! Expose their tactics, shame them publicly.
