Trimbakeshwar Trip from Pune — A Peaceful Spiritual Experience with a Toddler

Trimbakeshwar is one of those places where spirituality, calmness, and devotion can truly be felt. We recently planned a trip to Trimbakeshwar Jyotirlinga from Pune with a toddler, and this blog is our complete experience — from travel to darshan, food, and nearby attractions.

Journey from Pune to Trimbakeshwar

As I suffer from motion sickness, we preferred traveling by train. Since there is no direct train connectivity from Pune to Trimbakeshwar, we took train from Panvel to Nashik Road Station. From Nashik Road station, Trimbakeshwar is approximately 30–35 km away. Travel options from Nashik Road to Trimbakeshwar:

  • 🚕 Shared taxi — around ₹200 per person
  • 🚌 Bus — A budget-friendly option, though it may take a little longer.
  • 🛺 Auto — we chose this as we were travelling with a toddler

We took an auto directly from the station to our hotel near Trimbakeshwar temple, which cost us approx ₹700. It was comfortable and convenient with a child.

Day 1 — Settling In & Soaking the Divine Vibe

The day we reached, we kept things relaxed.

  • Rested after the journey
  • Experienced the divine and peaceful atmosphere
  • Visited nearby local souvenir shops

From the souvenir shops, we bought a small damru for our kid, which he absolutely loved.

Day 2 — Local Sightseeing

Since it was Sunday, there was a huge rush for darshan, and unfortunately, we couldn’t get the online/offline darshan pass for that day. So, we explored nearby attractions such as:

  • Kushavart Kund
  • Anjaneri
  • Swami Samarth Math
  • Annapurna Temple

Near Kushavart Kund, we found:

  • 🥗 Upwas / fasting food items available at stalls
  • ☕ Tea stalls
  • 📺 Big-screen for darshan

We also spotted a few monkeys near the kund, which became an exciting moment for our toddler — he was completely fascinated by watching them.

Day 3 — Early Morning Temple Darshan

On Monday, we planned for an early morning darshan. We had already booked our online darshan pass at ₹200 per person in advance . (There were offline darshan pass counters also available.)

  • ⏰ Reached temple gate (Uttar Dwar) at 5:15 am
  • 🚪 Temple gates opened at 5:30 am

That moment was truly goosebump-inducing — As soon as the gates opened, everyone chanted “Har Har Mahadev.” The energy was incredible. At the entrance, security checked our darshan passes. The entire darshan process was very smooth. Since it was early morning, the crowd was minimal.

✨ It took just 15–20 minutes from entry to complete darshan.

Wrapping Up the Trip

After darshan, we packed our bags and headed back to Nashik Road station for our return journey.

Food Options Near the Temple

Food availability is quite good around Trimbakeshwar:

  • 🍽 Pure vegetarian Thali options available
  • 🥗 Jain food also available
  • 🥣 Upwas / fasting items available both at stalls and at some restaurants

Since it was winter, we also saw several stalls selling hot masala milk, which was perfect for the chilly weather.

For our toddler, food was never a concern during trip:

  • Restaurants offered simple veg food like rice, roti, papad, cucumber, curd etc.
  • We also carried banana, apple, and a few snacks that he enjoys eating

This made travelling with a child much easier.

Early morning tea stalls were also available near the temple premises, which was quite convenient.

Special Rituals & Puja

Many devotees visit Trimbakeshwar for special pujas such as:

  • Kaal Sarp Puja
  • Narayan Nag Bali
  • Other ritual services like Rudrabhishek etc

These can be arranged through contacting authorized priests, and we got to know that people come from different parts of India specifically for these rituals.

Final Thoughts

Trimbakeshwar is a wonderful destination for those seeking:

  • Spiritual peace
  • Well-organized darshan
  • Good food options
  • Facilities suitable even when travelling with a toddler

With a little planning, the trip can be smooth, calm, and deeply satisfying.

This blog reflects our personal experience during the visit.
