Anak Skena Wajib Tahu!! Treasure Music : Lokananta

Last week ago, Im had an vacation on Solo, Central Java. Beside my vacation im going to Solo cause i had an training agenda. lets forget about my agenda. Just talk about Vacation !!

Okay cause I didnt have much times to explore Solo, I just search on gmaps about monument, building and tradional market around Solo. After few minutes, I found one place who have history and art. Basically we can called the place as museum of music I mean “Part of indonesian music development”. The name of the place is “Lokananta”

Lokananta, on early independence of indonesia is state own-enterprise who moved on music recording. This company had an HQ on Surakarta, Central Java or as javanesse also called SOLO City. Lokananta has been founded cause R.Maladi on 29 Oktober 1956, firstly Lokananta has been named as “Perusahaan Piringan Hitam Lokananta”. Why named Lokananta? in legendary story of Pewayangan(art story of javanesse) its cause Lokananta mean “A Set of Gamelan(tradisional javanesse music device) can ringing itself and tunable”.

Before named Lokananta, this company will be named as Indonesian Vox. But it canceled cause President of indonesia Ir. Soekarno rejected that name. On 1958, Lokananta trying to distribut vincyl record via RRI(radio republic indonesia).

On 1961, this company has been develop to be state company and moved on recording traditional music and record label. Then on 1971, Black Vinyl production has been replace to cassette.
