Limiting Beliefs are in itself a Limiting Belief
Life is filled with constant drama. Subconsciously, we hold them in our minds. Some motivates us, while others become our limiting beliefs. During times of self work, we dive into the dramas, figuring out what implications they may have for our present life. What we don’t realise is the groundless ground. Drama only becomes drama if you say that it’s drama. There’s actually no such thing as drama.
The Drama of High School Entrepreneurship
Back in 9th grade, I was that kid who dreamed of becoming the Mr Beast of FIFA. Day in, day out, the bathroom became my second home. I excused myself from class. Screen recording content. Chopping clips on CapCut. Revamping shorts with one of the pre-made templates (AI editing wasn’t a thing back then). After 1.5 years of posting every. single. day. I racked up over 4k subscribers and millions of views.

Approaching summer, Fifa announced their rebrand to EA Sports FC. This meant: new interface, new card, new modes. And for me, it meant new life.
Making 50–100 bucks each month from Youtube Adsense didn’t satisfy me.
That was also the period when I discovered guys like Iman Gadzhi, Hamza Ahmed, Alex Hormozi. And boy, did they really seduce me to their riches.
I ditched passion for money.
E-commerce, SEO agency, copywriting, faceless Youtube channels, podcasts. You name it, I tried it.
5AM meetings, half asleep during tests, school principle calling parents, locking myself in my room and crying about why life is so hard, name those and I’ve also been there.
Months later, I found success with my B2B marketing agency, scaling it to $14k MRR, serving over 25 clients.
Half a year later, I began to question about my future. That lead me to asking the deeper existential question: “Do I feel fulfilled in life?”
I parted ways with my co-founder shortly after.
Analysing Limiting Beliefs is itself a Limiting Belief
There were times when I wondered how life would look if I stuck with my football gaming channel. Perhaps I would be Mr Beast 2.0.
What bothered me the most was my decision on choosing money over passion.
But looking back, if I didn’t make that decision, then I wouldn’t be the person I am today. So why should I even judge my past self — something that I could not change?
The root reason for why I’m judging myself is because I want to build the perfect life.
This is such a common drive for people who step into any forms of self work (self improvement, shadow work, spirituality, etc)
I’m not going to neglect the effectiveness of reliving your past and analysing how certain events may have conditioned you with particular limiting beliefs.
In fact, it has helped me breakthrough many of these inner voices that no longer served me, which I brought on throughout childhood.
But when you overcook inner work, that in itself can also become a limiting belief. You begin to believe that the more you filter and think through each of your actions based on the insights and tools you accumulated, the more you’ll be living life correctly.
This makes you continue to seek for more and more.
Going deeper and deeper into your past.
Until you said “hi” to everything that exists.
The Groundless Ground
But here’s the catch: there’s no such thing as a perfect life.
A.k.a. You can go deeper and deeper and deeper into your past, trying to figure out what triggered particular behaviours, trying to piece things like a puzzle, then apply insights to change how you’re living life right now. But there’s no end point. It’s a trap. It’s an infinite loop. You get to a point where the deeper you dig, the more skeptical you become. Your brain becomes addicted into finding this illusion of “figuring it all out”. Why? Because you want to live a perfect life, a life without pain and suffering.
This realisation is something I’m still trying to integrate into my mind subconsciously.
Recognising that at the end of the day, the past is just the past.
You are perfect the way you are right now.
Life itself will bring you insights at the right timings, as long as you trust it and let it flow through you.
The last limiting belief one needs to face is recognising that limiting beliefs in itself is a limiting belief. The illusion that you need to overcome and be free from all limiting beliefs.
Only if you see it as drama, does it then become drama
If you’re familiar with Chinese fable stories, then what I’m about to tell you would probably ring a bell.

An old man and his horse resided in a village. One day, his horse fled away unknowingly. People came to comfort him. The man was perplexed.
“How do you know this won’t be a good thing?” he told the people.
2 months later, the horse found its way home. But it was accompanied by 5 other horses. Villagers once again, came to the old man. This time, praising his fortune.
“How do you know this won’t be a bad thing?” he told the people.
Months past by, and his grandson began riding the new horses. During one session, he flew off and broke his leg. Once again, people came to comfort the old man.
And you probably know what the old man said..
“How do you know this won’t be a good thing?” 2 months later, the country went to war, and his grandson was excluded from duty. No one survived during duty.
This story does an amazing job, highlighting the unpredictable nature of life.
More importantly, it teaches us how we shouldn’t “judge” events and beliefs that happen to us, because there’s always a reason behind it.
You may not be able to see it during the moment, but that’s okay.
We need to recognise that it’s our mind trying to grasp control of life, yet we do not have control to certain extents.
Only if you see it as drama, does it then become drama.
The more you put attention to a particular event, associating emotions and thoughts into it, the more you create drama in life.
The old man does a great job acknowledging each situation, then moving on, letting life “flow”, because he understands that life is a wave of fortunes and misfortunes. No matter what you do, you can’t escape either ends. And therefore, the best thing to do is to be present and live in the Now.
Not thinking about the past. Nor the future.
Being in the Now.
And letting life effortlessly flow through you.
