The vessel PEGASUS (formerly PAMIR) is a Chemical/Oil Products Tanker, built in 2004. Until January 2026 the vessel operated under a variety of flags from different nations but is currently operating as a Russian flagged vessel. Since the beginning of the Russia/Ukraine war several countries have sanctioned the vessel due to it’s associations with Russia and the transportation of Russian Crude Oil and other Oil products.

Recently the vessel has been reported to be openly travelling back and forth across the US blockade line in the Strait of Hormuz. A seemingly provocative act but any underlying motives are unclear as the vessel is not attempting to access ports or other ships.
