Dumbledore’s Divinity: The Letters from No One

Introduction: Chapter 3 witnesses the arrival of mysterious letters at the Dursleys’ not-so-humble abode, and the Dursleys try in vain to stop Harry from realizing his destiny by using ignorance, cowardice, and sheer spite as flawed weapons to achieve it.

The Inhumanity: The Dursleys fearlessly continued their brutal treatment towards Harry in an attempt to ‘discipline’ him. They locked Harry in his cupboard and gave him Dudley's old clothes, whereas Dudley broke his new toys and got new clothes. Harry saw through this hollow family and rightfully felt hatred towards the Dursleys for being biased and pampering Dudley.

The Mirror: Harry received mysterious letters with an ‘H’ symbol decorated with animals. The Dursleys found out about the letter and seized it, as it contained the place where Harry slept. Vernon’s cruelty was reflected in the address. He decided to move Harry to a bigger room, not out of kindness but out of fear that someone was watching.

The Calling: Harry didn’t know why, but out of sheer curiosity, he had to know its contents. So he tried to steal a letter under their noses. But the Dursleys were always one step ahead of him. They were too afraid that he would someday realize his destiny and turn against them for their cruelty towards him, but destiny doesn’t listen to anyone, not even the Dursleys.

The Persistent Providence: The Dursleys tried everything to stop the letters from reaching their domain of normalcy, but in vain, as destiny came to their domain by such strange means as eggs, milk, and even the chimney and persisted without fear of the Dursleys’ wrath. Destiny always finds a way and stops at nothing.

The Patronage: Providence followed the Dursleys wherever they went in the form of divine messages enclosed in envelopes. The Dursleys were unable to avoid them even when they went to a shabby motel on the outskirts; the letters still followed them. Like karma, there is no escape from destiny.

The Entropy: The Dursleys were in complete misery and disarray as they hopelessly tried to delay the inevitable revelation of Harry’s destiny. Their misery was the result of their inability to handle change, which they avoided and feared for so long, but just like destiny, change is inevitable.

The Reckoning: The Dursleys decided to take refuge in a miserable shack in the middle of the sea. This was their final miserable attempt to escape the inevitable and hold Harry as hostage forever, but the patience of Providence finally ran out and came in a much more active form than the letters. It came in the form of a man knocking on the door of the shack right at Harry’s birthday. Destiny, like time, waits for no one.

The Conclusion: In Chapter 4, we will witness the revelation of Harry’s true identity, his past, and his destiny as a wizard who must become a legend among his own kind and carry the legacy of his dearly departed parents.
