Electrify America Charger Upgrades: A Local Success Story

Electrify America has been busy this summer, temporarily closing several of their charging sites to upgrade their equipment. One location that directly affected our community was the charging station at the Mall of Georgia.

Previously, this site, like many others, had only four CCS chargers. Unfortunately, two of these were frequently out of order, and even when operational, they didn’t always perform to their full capacity. This situation often led to frustration and inconvenience for electric vehicle owners in the area.

However, I’m thrilled to report that the upgrade is now complete, and the results are impressive. The site now boasts new 350kW chargers, which represent the cutting edge in fast-charging technology. These high-powered chargers can significantly reduce charging times for compatible vehicles.

Even more encouraging is the improved reliability we’ve observed since the upgrade. The new chargers have demonstrated higher uptime, which is crucial for dependable fast charging access.

As an electric vehicle owner and advocate, I’m excited about what this means for our local EV community. Reliable, high-speed charging infrastructure is vital for the continued adoption of electric vehicles, and it’s heartening to see Electrify America investing in these improvements.

I look forward to once again having access to reliable fast charging at this location, and I’m optimistic about the positive impact this will have on EV drivers in our area.
