The Deepest Loneliness of a Thinking Mind

The world is strange.

There are still so many things I do not understand. So many. Intelligence feels like medicine. A kind of medicine that can make life better, something that stays with us forever. I have heard people say that intelligence never hurts anyone.

But I do not think that is true.

In a white room, on a blue bed, with a notebook and pink headphones, far away from people, far away from judgment, expectations, and the voices of others and myself, there is only the sound of the piano.

It pulls me into something.

Something frightening and lonely. Lonelier than the universe itself, because there is only me.

Even the universe has stars and matter as companions. But some people do not even have emptiness to keep them company.

The words typed onto the page feel like musical notes, telling a painful story. Bitter thoughts. Some people may not be good at reading music, but they know how to use words, and those words can cut deep into the heart of loneliness.

Pressing the keyboard feels like playing the piano. We try to make it right, but when loneliness takes over, we stop trying to be perfect. We simply try to make it carry every feeling inside us.

There is a loneliness that comes with knowledge.

A kind of knowledge that once protected someone from the outside world. Protected them from being hurt, looked down on, and misunderstood. But now, no one seems able to understand the depth of that knowledge as deeply as this person does.

People become afraid. They become careful. They do not understand.

It feels like an invisible circle.

Sometimes, I hope that someone will be able to enter this circle. Not through knowledge, but through real love.

The final prayer of someone who has never believed in God is this:

Please let there be a soul that can understand me as deeply as I understand myself. Please let me feel truly understood.
