You Thought You Weren’t Enough

My life has been so much easier when you’re around. I can be by myself and do whatever I want without feeling judge. You always gave me the advice I needed, and even when all I did was make stupid mistakes, you never made me feel ashamed. You always saw me as someone different, someone worth understanding.

You became the safest place I could go whenever I had a bad day. No matter how I was feeling, I always found my way back to you. When I was sad, you were there. When I was happy, you were there. When I felt like I wasn’t enough, you reminded me that I was. You were always by my side whenever I needed you.

Then, one random day, you gave up on me as if I had never meant anything to you.

It wasn’t because I stopped being there for you, I never did. I loved you the same way you loved me. I stayed, I listened, and I cared. But somehow, you convinced yourself that you weren’t enough for me.

I never understood that.

You gave me the safest place I’d ever known. You made me feel loved, understood, and accepted. So why would you ever think you weren’t enough?

Things could have been fixed if you had chosen to talk to me. We could have found a way through it together. Instead, you chose to walk away. I kept reaching out because I believed we were worth fighting for, but you kept pushing me away, expecting me to understand something you never explained.

Eventually, I got tired, not because I stopped loving you, but because I couldn’t keep holding on to someone who had already let go.
