Scout Members of MAN 1 Yogyakarta Celebrate Syawal Through Syawalan

Yogyakarta, Indonesia — To honor the spirit of the month of Syawal, the Scout members of MAN 1 Yogyakarta held a Halal Bihalal and Syawalan event at the 2nd floor hall of the school on Saturday (11/4/2026). The activity served as a meaningful moment for Ambalan members to forgive one another and strengthen their bonds as one big Scout family.

The event began with an opening by Kak Zara and Kak Jamil as the masters of ceremony, followed by a recitation of the Holy Qur’an by Kak Jihan, representing Dewan Ambalan 26, as a hope for blessings throughout the event. In his remarks, Rahmat Nur Syaifudin, S.Pd., as Assistant Scout Coach, emphasized that this gathering is a valuable opportunity to seek forgiveness from one another, whether present or absent at the event.

“Let us make this once-a-year moment a means to strengthen our ties as the big family of MAN 1 Yogyakarta Scouts. Even though not everyone could attend this time, hopefully more will be able to join next year to reconnect and forgive one another,” he said.

In the tausiyah session, Ustadz Hilman Abdullah, S.Hum., delivered a message on Adab Towards Others, which became the main theme of this year’s Syawalan. The atmosphere grew more lively with fun games that tested participants’ general knowledge about scouting and other topics through the Kahoot application. Rewards were given to the top three winning groups as appreciation.

A warm sense of togetherness was felt during the sharing session, where representatives from each Ambalan generation shared their experiences in participating in Scout activities at MAN 1 Yogyakarta. The highlight of the event was the moment when participants shook hands and sincerely asked for forgiveness from one another, followed by a documentation session to close the event.

Head of MAN 1 Yogyakarta, Edi Triyanto, S.Ag., S.Pd., M.Pd., expressed his appreciation for the meaningful activity.

“This Halal Bihalal and Syawalan event is an important moment to instill values of togetherness, forgiveness, and strengthen brotherhood among students. I hope this activity will nurture politeness, empathy, and unity, creating a harmonious and blessed school environment,” he stated.

Through this activity, it is hoped that the Scout family of MAN 1 Yogyakarta will continue to maintain strong relationships and uphold the spirit of forgiveness and unity. (fra)
