Every book is a record of its own creation, but this one is something else entirely — a documentation of a process where the boundary between human and machine, real and artificial, tangible and digital, was constantly shifting.

There was a time when the artificial was obvious — a glitch in the pixels, a stiffness in the text, missing body parts in the images. But now, AI-generated content doesn’t just mimic reality; it weaves itself into it, seamlessly, invisibly. A photograph that was never taken, a voice that was never spoken, a sentence that was never written by human hands — yet here they are, existing, as if they always had.

From the first concept sketches to the final binding, the act of making this book felt like a negotiation. How much control do I give AI? How much do I reclaim? Sometimes I do feel horrified when I was reminded that this book is co-authored by something that does not think, does not feel, yet still creates.

I documented these steps not just to track progress, but to expose the process itself — the ways AI persuades, suggests, and sometimes dictates. There were moments where it was impossible to tell which decisions were truly mine and which were being pushed into place by machine-generated randomness. AI didn’t just assist in making this book; it somehow challenged my role as a creator.

Binding Process of the Book

The final object holds within it this paradox: a handmade artifact of machine-generated content. These pages exist because of a conversation between human instinct and artificial probability, a book that could not have existed in a world without both. And so, this book is not just a project — it is a reflection of the moment we are living in, where AI does not simply assist but shapes, does not just predict but persuades. As I wrote on the last page of the book, “The more AI knows, the less we question — until we are echoes of the code that shaped us.” But this book is a refusal to these statements. It is a reminder that to create is to question, to resist, to leave behind something imperfectly human in a world increasingly built by machines.
