Multiple Felonies Charged in Child Sex Abuse Case

On June 18, King County Prosecutors charged a defendant with multiple felonies: Sexual Exploitation of a Minor, two counts of Commercial Sexual Abuse of a Minor, Possession of Depictions of a Minor Engaged in Sexually Explicit Conduct in the First Degree, and two counts of Communication with a Minor for Immoral Purposes.

From the public charging documents:

“[The defendant] is employed at the University of Washington as a General Manager of Residential Dining. He continued to sexually exploit [a minor victim] after [another minor victim] informed him that her mother had found their communications and called law enforcement. He utilized encrypted messages and auto-deleting messages to evade further detective. He purchased at least one cell phone for the minor to use without their parents discovering their conduct. He even video recorded one sexual encounter with [a minor victim], while explicitly stating she is 14 years old on the recording, and abusing her multiple ways.”

At arraignment on June 24, the defendant pleaded not guilty. As of this writing, the defendant remains in custody on $750K, the amount requested by King County Prosecutors and set by the court after hearing from both sides.

Defendants are innocent until proven guilty.
