Sting is a British singer‑songwriter whose genre‑blending artistry and sensual vocal style made him one of the most influential musicians of the last four decades.
My poem was inspired by Sting’s performance of “What Are You Doing the Rest of Your Life.”
His voice of passion Unleashes chills down my spine As he makes love to his music
His voice leaves me breathless The pianist makes me swim My heart is stilled and yet burning
I listen intently to every sound Born from their musicality I know that type of love It is mine too
I am filled with emotions A surge of inexplicable forces Up and down my core
It is not a sex-driven desire But one of sounds that thrill me A lust for music
It fills my passion With desirous soul He knows that song, that melody
The one that drives forces When poetry finds its way Through the veins of a singer.
