New Reality: The Global Volume and Scale of Information Movement

The building block of life is no longer the atom, but information. But how? What are the scientific foundations for this? How has interconnectedness nourished this information?

When we look at the fractal patterns of the mind, we see how information emerges, how sensory information is shaped by connections in the mind and produces what we call meaning. We discover that what concretizes information and adapts it to the outside world is related to interconnectedness rather than a holistic view. The way pathways in the brain move and relate to each other when learning a new language proves that information is more of an operational and relational structure than just knowledge. At this point, knowledge, or what we call compiled pieces of information, becomes even more important.

The commodity value of goods and value has never been so high. The heart of capitalism has never accumulated so much fat. We have long been living in a world where the movement of value, rather than the value produced, has become more essential, where it must constantly maintain its place in the economy of visibility, where it occupies time and space, and where the movement of value, rather than value itself, has become more essential. When resources are scarce, the global movement of resources necessitates greater transaction volume and the movement of money, making it imperative for commodities to be present everywhere at the same time.

This brought to mind the Information Age. More than information itself, it is the processing of information and its constant movement that has transformed it into a more valuable and important reality. We are experiencing a model based on the global market, the movement and density of information rather than information itself, and the creation of a flow through the tracking of operational metrics and scores related to it. Rather than the operation itself, the tracking of the operation and its continuous processing and changing hands represent the new, fresh, and profitable capital of the Information Age. It is not the information that dominates the market, but rather the movement of that information, its mode of movement, its constant shifting — which requires it to be fluid (Zygmunt Bauman: Liquid Modernity ) — that is the sacred object of the new world. The semantic difference between information and knowledge: while information acts as and moves in information packets, knowledge represents the processing of all these modes of movement. The process is more powerful, bringing to mind the flow of information in dots. Digestive capacity in informational stimulus inflation, which requires application and simultaneous conversion practices, is the parameter of our new reality that everyone finds themselves in.

Life becoming a complete process forces us to prioritize speed and velocity due to the volatility, or transience, of the constantly flowing and moving “fluid modern world.” The more information (stimulus bombardment) is mobilized and processed in less time, the more diversity and a false image of quantity appear before us. Information used to be sacred. Now, processing and transforming information has become more sacred. In this chaos, rather than simply accessing and obtaining information, where you carry the existing infinite information and with whom you contextualize it has become more vital and has created greater target potential.

Life consists of intertwined information codes.

Transforming the web of life or being transformed by it occurs through useful and useless connections.

Real-Time World: Fragmentation of Truth Moment 3.0

Content production has become a real-time endeavor. The new global flow of information and trade progresses through screens via networks, increasing or decreasing online volume. Knowledge is no longer about knowing; it has become a process. We are witnessing the transformation of fixed, immobile, rigid particles into a fluid liquid, constantly changing meaning and dimension to become a symbol of truth. The operational flow of trade and commerce is taking shape simultaneously and online on internet networks. Global white-collar workers now carry screens, even multiple screens (the option to split the page into 4–5 parts to increase image processing efficiency), which have become an extension of their bodies, with them at all times. At home, when they first wake up in the morning, while walking down the street, standing on the bus, and when they leave work and walk down the stairs, they have evolved into a robotic workforce that breathes with the screens they have to follow at the same time.

A single click, swipe, page turn, and the process of performing and approving an action on that page are part of a new world business model and a work network that takes up hours of individuals’ daily lives.

When you think about it, when screens go dark and the power goes out, who knows how many transactions will be left hanging, approvals won’t be possible because pages won’t load, and the movement of goods and commodities along with information could cause operational disruptions on the global network within minutes, with the potential to create global chaos.

Sitting down has become a way of squeezing time into micro-spaces. The work model has already fragmented the individual’s perception of time (the flow of perceived time versus real time) into multiple segments, especially with the perspective shifts that come with immobility.
