The Medicare Part D program provides prescription drug coverage to about 63 million Americans. The roughly 25 million of the beneficiaries who are enrolled in Medicare Part D stand-along prescription drug plans would be affected by the administration’s decision. — USA Today

The lack of subsidies means “some Part D stand-alone drug plan enrollees could face a larger premium increase for drug coverage next year than in recent years,” according to KFF. The move comes as cost of living remains a huge concern among Americans ahead of the midterms.
