Divya’s roots are from Mathura, where she completed her schooling at Atmiya Vidyapeeth School. She joined Allen Career Institute to complete her higher secondary studies, experience that she gives credit to for helping her become disciplined, focused, and consistent.

She later moved to Mumbai to pursue a Bachelor’s degree in Clinical Psychology because of her interest to understand human behaviour, communication patterns, emotional intelligence, and the way people think and make decisions.

As she progressed through her degree, she developed more interest in psychology that gave her a deeper understanding of people. She wanted to apply the knowledge gained by working in corporate settings instead of clinical practice. That’s when she took her next step in enrolling in Human Resource Management which would enable her to combine behavioural understanding with business and organisational management.

Her roles & responsibilities included onboarding processes, employee documentation, recruitment support, and day-to-day HR workflows.

The internship exposed her to first-hand experience of being a Human Resource, particularly within an environment of a manufacturing organization. It helped her understand the process of coordination, documentation, communication across different levels of an organisation, and the important role an HR plays in ensuring smooth business operations throughout the organisation.

Her psychology background also proved valuable during the internship. It reinforced her belief that successful HR is ultimately about understanding people, while processes exist to support effective people management.

A Question That Revealed Her Mindset

During the campus placement process for PGP Glass Ltd., Divya faced a structured interview for the role of Management Trainee.

While technical knowledge was important, she believes confidence and composure played an equally significant role.

One interview question that stood out.

She was asked whether she would share the interview questions with other candidates after leaving the interview room.

Her answer was simple and honest.

Yes, she would!

Upon asked why? She answered, every candidate has different abilities, perspectives, and ways of approaching the questions and problems. Sharing questions would not determine the outcome because confidence, preparation, and attitude cannot be copied. If another candidate performed better, they deserved the opportunity. Otherwise, she herself would earn it.

The response reflected confidence without arrogance and competitiveness without insecurity.

Shortly after the interview process was concluded, she received the offer from PGP Glass Ltd. as a Management Trainee with a package of ₹6 LPA.

The Discipline Behind the Achievement

Divya’s consistency was rooted in her personal motivation. She was quite open in sharing her family’s circumstances, including her father’s health and financial responsibilities at home. All of which encouraged her to become career-ready as early as possible.

Her approach was quite straight. Motivation may shift in hard times, but consistency shouldn’t stop. And with her that approach, her efforts produced fair results. She had started her placement preparation right from the first semester instead of waiting until the final year to get started. This approach gave her enough time to improve steadily, and that long-term commitment became one of the defining factors in her success.

In an MBA classroom, students from different academic backgrounds would come up and each will bring their unique strengths. Instead of comparing yourself with peers from commerce or business disciplines, focus on yourself and how you can consistently improve your own skills.

She also urges students to make the most of all the opportunities you come across in the MBA year, including mock interviews, communication training, aptitude drills, group discussions and interaction programmes with corporations. Small gains consistently over two years, while small, can prove an enormous advantage for campus placements.
