Meet Joyi A Story Born of Wool

Joyi wasn’t just created — she arrived.

It all began on a quiet afternoon in my studio. I sat down with soft wool, a felting needle, and a thought: What if I could shape not just an animal, but a feeling? I didn’t know her name yet, but I knew she would be soft, small, and full of life.

As the wool began to take shape beneath my fingers, her tiny ears perked up, her paws curled gently inward, and her eyes… they held something. Something alive.

🧵 Why I Created Joyi

I’ve always loved animals, but there’s something uniquely magical about cats — how they balance wildness with gentleness. Joyi was my way of capturing that contradiction — a fluffy little creature that felt both familiar and enchanted.

She became my first needle felted cat sculpture with a true personality. And what happened next, I didn’t expect: I got attached.

Every stitch, every tuft of wool revealed more of who she was. So I began photographing her in different corners of the house: by the window, under the table, napping next to my coffee cup.

One day, I imagined — what if she got lost? That became the story I filmed: a door left ajar, a room searched in panic, and finally, a joyful reunion under the table. Yes — Joyi had become a character.

🎁 More Than a Sculpture

Joyi isn’t just a decoration. She’s a feeling. And ever since I brought her to life, I’ve wondered: What if others had their own Joyis too?

That’s how I began creating custom felt sculptures for pet lovers. But Joyi will always be the first — the one who taught me that wool can carry a soul.
