Note 46 from My Daughter’s Chinese-speaking Mission in Vancouver: 光阴似箭,日月如梭 (guāng yīn sì jiàn, rì yuè rú suō) Light travels like an arrow, and time like a shuttle.

大家好!I’m in Richmond and I love it! The people here are so amazing!

Wednesday: Not much happened on Wednesday we tried parking lot finding, we prepared for transfers, including making a long list of all the things in our apartment that are broken haha, sorry incoming sister missionaries!

We had English class in the evening and some new people came! M. goes on walks around the temple grounds with her husband all the time and we’ve talked to her a few times, but she hadn’t come to English class until this week! And she brought her friend P.! In English class we listened to a recording of the Shel Silberstein book, the giving tree, and then broke it down into sentences, it’s a really good book, I forgot how deep that book is!

Thursday: Transfers! We had to shove all of our things into our car, and then into a bus and then I made it to Richmond! We had a short lesson with our new member Jasmine, she is absolutely the cutest and I got to say the 5 things I know in Cantonese which was fun

We also had English class! The elders taught and they are so funny, they have the same Chinese names so they’re both 汤长老(Elder Tang) and they are quite the duo.

Friday: I got to meet so many of the amazing members here! I love Richmond! We had lessons with our new members 陳弟兄 and 姐妹, they are the cutest people ever! We talked about the 2 great commandments and the 10 commandments, and these members are so amazing, they have such strong testimonies and they truly want to follow the example of Jesus Christ!

Saturday: We had a lesson about the temple with 黄姐妹 and she gave us some 粽子 after! She is the only member in her family and loves Church! She also came to game night which was super fun! I played 三国杀 for the first time! I still don’t really get it, I kept taking too long and people would just play for me haha! One day I’ll know what’s happening.

Sunday: I turned 20! But I’m still 19 at heart haha, going on a mission really does feel like time is just frozen — what do you mean I’m actually 20 years old?! My mom and dad sent me size 7 1/2 Doc Marten shoes, black and some delicious Zebra Cakes which was AWESOME!

Everyone wished me happy birthday and it was a really good day serving the Lord.

Monday: Lunch with my favorite Sister N. for my birthday, she is so cute, and gave us some adorable little cupcakes! We do weekly English/gospel lessons with two of the new members here, L. and D., they are the most adorable people ever!! They’re so cute and have such strong testimonies and are so grateful for all the blessings of the Gospel in their lives

We also had R.’s baptismal interview! He has such a strong testimony of the restoration of the Gospel, and is so grateful for prophets! He was beaming so hugely when we were talking about his baptism, he’s so amazing!!!

Tuesday: I hit a year as a missionary! This year has been so full. My heart is so full with all the experiences I’ve had and all the people I’ve been able to meet. I love Jesus Christ so much and I know him so much more than I did one year ago today.

I can try to summarize this year, but I think the only thing there is to say is :

Jesus Christ Lives. And He loves so much!

Love you all! Have a good week!

P.S. Meanwhile back home…

My dad and two brothers had a power spiritual youth conference at the Kirtland Temple and historic sights around there over Memorial Day weekend! My little brother who’s pretty quiet shared his testimony in the Kirtland Temple where they had a testimony meeting the night before they came home!

My littler brother was one of five students in his history class who turned in the completed homework history assignment after the holiday weekend. Nice job, bro!

My lil’ sister had a concert where she sang 8 different songs with her chorus / choir! My dad said while the choir was looking at the conductor, thier music teacher, my little sister was singing to and facing the crowd! Go get ’em, lil’ sis’! Next week she’ll have a band concert where she’ll play percussion in a combo medley of We Will Rock You and We Are The Champions! Great job sister!
