A Barnyard Tale Featuring Cora the Dancing Cow

The barn animals lived chaotically. Pillsbury the Pig claimed to be royal. Harry the horse feared running. Cora the Cow danced constantly, even during thunderstorms. Wally the Wolf looked hungry, and Ronnie the Rooster told terrible jokes instead of crowing.

One fine morning, the prized watermelon, Gregory, vanished. “He was to be knighted!” wailed Pillsbury, adjusting his corn husk crown.

Cora moonwalked through the barnyard. “This was an inside job,” she declared mid–cha-cha, pointing at Wally.

“I’m a carnivore,” Wally growled. “Fruit is dead to me.”

Ronnie cackled, “What do you call a fruit that ghosts you? A fictitious melon!” Silence. A distant cricket filed a noise complaint.

Cora launched a full investigation while salsa dancing. A trial was held. Ronnie typed gibberish on a typewriter as the stenographer. The goats on jury duty sobbed.

Then they found Gregory in Wally’s den — unharmed, wearing sunglasses, holding a sign: I needed a break.

Ronnie confessed. He’d rolled Gregory downhill as a “visual bit” and forgot him.

“You mean this whole panic was fictitious?” Pillsbury fainted dramatically.

From then on, Gregory retired. Ronnie lost fruit privileges. Cora danced on.

Lesson: never trust a rooster with props — or a cow with rhythm.
