When Tiredness Stops You

Over the past month, fatigue has been present on many days.

In the last week, an unexpected incident required even more effort from my body and mind, which did not improve the previous situation.

This feeling of frequent tiredness is new to me, or at least I haven’t felt it for such a long time.

Amid the tasks that I can’t escape from daily, I try to find some moments to take mini breaks and rest a bit — that’s the secret to dealing with many more complicated situations, isn’t it?

One small stop

Yesterday I managed to get out of the house and set aside a half hour to go to the garden.

My plan was to go to a nearby park, 5 minutes away, where I would sit, watch and feel nature, meditate a bit, and try to do some Qi Gong exercises.

However, about a minute after leaving the house, I already felt very tired and needed to stop.

At that point, my way was through a small square between buildings. A small space, which you can cross in 30 seconds, but which has some trees and benches to sit on.

A moment of rest

“Forced” by fatigue, I sat down on the first bench I found. Sighing with relief, I leaned my back and looked around.

So many surprises surrounded me.

The trees were beautiful, full of leaves that formed a green cover to protect me from the sun.

A small breeze caressed my arms and face as if whispering: “Enjoy this place and moment, rest here and now”.

So I did for a few minutes, amazed at the beauty and simplicity of this simple, small space that you can see in the photograph.

The birds sang among the sounds of the wind, lulling me and taking me to a state of pause, of quiet calm.

Leading me to a moment of rest.

Was this space really just a small square between buildings?

If I had not been forced to stop, perhaps I would have only noticed this superficial dimension in this space.

With the “help” of tiredness, I found — felt — a small paradise.

I found it — I could see it — during the trip, not at the destination.

How many paradises do we miss because we pass by them in too much of a hurry?
