Benten Kozo (弁天小僧) is one of the five charismatic thieves in the popular play “Shiranami Gonin Otoko” (The Five Men of the White Waves). He is known for his stunning appearance, often disguising himself as a beautiful woman, only to dramatically reveal his true identity when caught.

The famous scene occurs at the Hamamatsuya shop (kimono fabric shop), where Benten Kozo, disguised as a refined lady of a samurai family, attempts a clever swindle.

The Iconic Reveal: His Famous Line
