My cousin’s sister talked about what technology is. These are some thoughts that emerged from that conversation.

The attempt to define information technology can go in any direction, as conceived by any thinker, but the more we talked, the more what sticks with me is the simple fact that the field of IT arose from the constant need to find solutions to human problems. Information technology

I can think of a thousand definitions about this subject that make this definition concrete, but I will spare you the stress and mention a few.

The reason for self-driving cars is simply that someone saw all the mishaps of humans behind the steering wheel and came up with a solution. Before self-driving cars, there was nothing like a car. It started with an idea in someone’s head; he spoke it as words, and he didn’t stop there. He worked hard to bring it to life, and the rest is history.

He opened the door to a world of innovation and vehicle technology, and left it open for whoever was bold enough to dream, decide, create, and walk in the footsteps of those creative to solve humanity’s biggest issues.

Information technology consists of two words — Information and technology. The information here can mean a lot of things, but basically it’s about knowing what’s missing, identifying it, addressing it, and developing a mechanism to mitigate the problem.

Creativity, in the words of Nawal El Saadawi (1931–2021), is not just making meals or composing a piece of music; creativity means revolting against injustice; the revolution against injustice needs creativity; without creativity, we cannot revolt.

Creativity means a way of life, a philosophy in life, in a relationship, in a love relationship, you need creativity, in friendship, in human work or endeavour, you need creativity.

Creativity is not something coming to a few genius people; not everybody was born creative; men, women, poor, rich, black, white, Swedish or Egyptian. What kills us is the Educational system in all countries because it doesn’t give us a holistic vision of the world. Thanks to Wazani for sharing this with me..

That says it all. We are all creative, and we have the God-given ability to look around and become the solution to the problems that surround us.

This is not just about defining what information technology is, but about touching on a deeper point we all need to know and harness.

Every time I hear Mr Tizhe Bitrus talk, I hear a man who has understood something that, once understood, will see him succeed till the day God takes him back, and that churns the creative juices that are intrinsically living in me. His life is a revolt against all the limitations of Nigeria and the world at large, and that’s the life I envisage for myself, and if anyone can make it, I can.

As a boy, I remember drawing different cars, imagining that one day I would be an automobile engineer, making cars and creating solutions. That just shows us how bad our system is. I have felt that I have creative solutions in every sector, and it feels like a call to REVOLT. To protest against the system that has worked so hard to kill our creativity and make us Zombies, incapable of being creative.

Our protest is not on the streets. Our protest is not fighting a system that works around the clock to destroy itself. Watching men like Daniel Bwala make fools of themselves shows me that the moment you choose to kill your creativity, you end up like Daniel, Reno, and many people who have accepted nonsense as their fate. I will never come to carry a gun and go on the streets to protest, but I live in constant revolt to a system that has sought to keep me in chains of its mediocrity, and until I am free, I will keep fighting.
