for those of us who aren’t allowed magic

there are those of us who touch magic

and the world rejoices

and then there are those of us where magic is slapped from our hands

wrists handcuffed

doors to the padded room locked

involuntarily sedated with great violence

real or metaphorical

this one goes out to my fellow crazies

you’re not delusional for seeing the sacred everywhere

for feeling you have purpose to your life

for feeling there is a role for you in all of this

you’re not delusional for feeling so deeply afraid

it truly isn’t safe out there

(zoom and signal are better than others)

we’re doing the “safety in numbers”

school of sardines thing

there’s truly too many of us glittering around to track

and a lot of the glitches we see in reality and technology

are just the world noticing how big and open our energy is

how many spirits are flowing virtually invisible above our heads

you just need fewer cages and more trusted wise people

if you are one of the lucky ones who’s never been punished for touching magic

good for you

but don’t expect me to celebrate you without pain in my heart
