How Stakingverse Powers Secure and Accessible Staking on LUKSO

From Telegram chat to liquid staking pioneer, Stakingverse has become core to LUKSO’s growth.

From grassroots chatroom to cornerstone infrastructure, Stakingverse has defined what staking means on LUKSO. It began as a small Telegram support group during the early testnets and has since grown into the network’s largest staking platform. Today, it serves as a trusted infrastructure partner, a security-first validator, and the team behind LUKSO’s first fully operational liquid staking product.

This journey reflects the character of the LUKSO ecosystem. Grassroots efforts can grow into critical infrastructure. A volunteer community can become a professional-grade platform. And the same people once answering questions in chatrooms are now building the protocols that secure the network.

From its beginnings in the L15 and L16 testnets to launching the first liquid staking platform on LUKSO, Stakingverse has been woven into the network’s story. What started as community support evolved into a trusted infrastructure partner helping secure the blockchain and lower the barrier for participation.

Stakingverse’s mission has always been clear: “to make staking simple, secure, and accessible for everyone,” says co-founder Jordy. “From liquid staking pools to white-glove validator support, we want to give users the tools to participate without friction and without giving up control.”

From Telegram Chat to Core Infrastructure

Stakingverse began in 2021 as the “Luksoverse Node Support” chat. At the time, LUKSO was running the L15 testnet, one of the first networks based on Ethereum 2.0. A community of determined node operators quickly gathered around it.

“We had a big and active community that just wanted to help each other,” says Jordy. “We started creating our own documentation to fill gaps, which freed up the LUKSO team to focus on building. It was fun, and we felt part of something big.”

This was more than just technical help. It represented a culture of self-organization that defined LUKSO’s early community. People didn’t just want to run validators — they wanted to experiment, to push boundaries, and to actively improve the network.

“Vlad and I actually crashed the first L16 testnet by spamming it with thousands of transactions,” Jordy recalls. “It exposed bugs in the early Ethereum 2.0 codebase that LUKSO reported to Ethereum — and those bugs were fixed.”

Stories like these underline why Stakingverse became indispensable. What began as peer support quickly evolved into collaboration with the LUKSO core team. Jordy, Vlad, and Rob were invited by the network lead to pre-test CLI releases before they went public. This created a direct feedback loop and ensured the protocol matured with community involvement baked in.

By the time Mainnet launched, Stakingverse wasn’t just a support group — it was a partner in stress-testing, education, and infrastructure.

Why Stakingverse Chose LUKSO

The decision to build on LUKSO was deliberate. Jordy describes the moment:

“I initially discovered LUKSO because it was set to become a Proof-of-Stake network built on Ethereum 2.0, and I wanted to be part of it as a validator. What started as technical curiosity quickly turned into something bigger. We built a lot of trust within LUKSO’s early, highly engaged community, which gave us the foundation to launch and grow our platform. The chain’s vision, combined with the community’s support, made LUKSO the natural home for what became Stakingverse.”

That sense of alignment between values and vision made the leap to building infrastructure an obvious one. And Jordy is clear about why staking remains essential: “Staking, running nodes, and especially home validators will remain a crucial part of LUKSO’s long-term success. Staking isn’t just about earning rewards — it’s about actively securing the foundation of the ecosystem. The more people who participate in staking, the stronger and more resilient the network becomes.

This is why Stakingverse has always balanced scale with decentralization. Growth is important, but never at the expense of the network’s health.

From Pools to Liquid Staking

“At the time, home staking was ideal for decentralization but not realistic for most people,” Jordy explains. “We wanted to create a secure, flexible option that supported both users and the network.”

This insight pushed the platform forward. Stakingverse partnered with Universal Page to launch its first staking product, then began exploring how to upgrade it into liquid staking. To achieve this, Jordy brought in Jean Cavallera, known across LUKSO as “the Masterchef” of LSP standards. To work with him on upgrading the Stakingverse staking protocol to a full scale liquid staking protocol, and develop the SLYXToken contract.

The upgrade was meticulous. With Vlad having already built logic to convert staked LYX into shares in the original code, the foundation was in place. After months of research, development, testing, iterations, and audits, Jordy and Jean met at ETHDenver 2025 for some final dry runs. Once everything looked good, sLYX was launched.

“It’s like having a token that doesn’t change in amount, but becomes more valuable the longer you hold it. Everything about how it works is open and visible on our docs and our verified smart contracts on the blockchain.”

How sLYX Works

The mechanics are intentionally simple:

  1. Stake LYX and optionally mint sLYX at the current exchange rate.
  2. Hold, transfer, or use sLYX in DeFi while rewards accrue.
  3. Burn sLYX to redeem staked LYX plus rewards, or trade it on the open market.

sLYX is a non-rebasing LSP7 token, meaning balances remain constant while value grows. It allows users to secure the network while retaining liquidity — a key improvement for anyone balancing staking with other on-chain activity.

“Liquid staking allows users to stake without locking up their LYX, lowering the barrier to participation and increasing overall network security,” Jordy explains. “It makes staking more accessible for people who want to stay flexible — whether they’re builders, traders, or simply holding LYX but still want to support the network.”

Reliability and Transparency

From the beginning, Stakingverse emphasized security. “Before launching liquid staking, we went through three independent audits by Extropy, MiloTruck, and Enigma. We also completed a bonus audit using Nethermind’s new AI Audit Agent. All audit reports are publicly available on our GitHub.”

The validator infrastructure reflects this philosophy. “From the start, we’ve focused on balancing performance with decentralization and client diversity. All of our validator nodes run on Besu + Teku, which are minority clients in the LUKSO network. This choice helps improve overall client diversity without sacrificing performance or uptime.

For our non-validator nodes like for our SigmaCore RPC service, we use Geth + Lighthouse, optimized for stability with active monitoring, automation, and regular updates.”

This combination of careful client selection and infrastructure design helps Stakingverse avoid common pitfalls seen in other networks, where validator dominance or lack of client diversity can compromise resilience.

“Our infrastructure has been designed for stability from the start. Security starts with stability.”

Impact on LUKSO’s Creative Economy

The role of Stakingverse isn’t just technical. It is also cultural. Jordy notes: “Staking provides the foundational security that creative and cultural applications on LUKSO rely on. Whether it’s your on-chain identity, digital fashion, music, social tokens, or profile-based interactions — these use cases all need a stable and decentralized network to thrive. That’s exactly what Stakingverse helps enable.”

Liquid staking makes this connection even stronger. “It allows creators and collectors to stake their LYX while still keeping access to liquid assets they can use across the ecosystem. This means users can earn staking rewards while participating in drops, buying wearables, or supporting other creators — all without giving up flexibility. Instead of staking being separated from culture, it becomes deeply integrated into how value flows through the creative economy on LUKSO.”

This framing is powerful. It shifts staking from something seen as purely technical into something inherently tied to creative participation and cultural expression.

Community, Education, and User Growth

Education was always central to Stakingverse’s DNA. “From the start, education has been a core part of what we do. With Stakingverse, we’ve continued to prioritize education by providing clear guides and in-depth documentation. Every feature we launch comes with a demo or detailed explanation. Our goal is to make staking accessible and understandable — without oversimplifying it.”

That philosophy translated into real adoption. The user base has grown to include DeFi-minded participants, long-term community members, and large holders using the White Glove service.

Jordy explains: “Since launching liquid staking, more DeFi-minded users have joined — people who are looking for flexibility and ways to make their LYX work for them. We’ve also seen increased interest from larger holders using our White Glove service.”

Growth Since Launch

The numbers tell their own story. Stakingverse deployed a StakeWise V3 liquid staking vault on Ethereum, holding around $8 million in staked ETH.

On LUKSO, it launched a fully custom staking protocol and quickly became the network’s largest platform. Nearly 100,000 LYX has been distributed in rewards, with over 550 unique users onboarded. More than 320,000 sLYX has been minted by 230 participants.

The figures are impressive, but what stands out most is the loyalty of its community.

One of the most positive surprises has been the level of support and loyalty from our community. From the early testnet days to now, many users have stayed with us, helped spread the word, and shared feedback that directly shaped the platform. It’s clear the community isn’t just using Stakingverse — they’re actively helping build it.

Looking Ahead

The immediate priority is decentralization. “We’re really looking forward to reopening the protocol to allow more users to stake and mint sLYX. Right now, deposits are paused to protect decentralization, but that will change once more institutional validators come online. As our share of the network drops, we’ll be able to safely accept new stakers again.”

This careful approach highlights how Stakingverse sees itself — not as a product chasing numbers, but as a steward of the network’s health.

Jordy frames the long-term vision simply:

“As LUKSO grows, our goal is to maintain our position as the go-to for all things staking — whether that’s troubleshooting, running validators, offering liquid staking, or supporting institutional and home stakers. We’ll keep evolving alongside the network, while staying focused on decentralization, security, and accessibility.”

Lessons for Builders

Jordy’s advice resonates with anyone building in a young ecosystem:

“Don’t wait for perfection. If your product is secure and functional, ship it. Launching a solid V1 early gives you real user feedback, builds community awareness, and gets you actual customers — while endless polishing just burns time and money. Especially in a growing ecosystem like LUKSO, being early and iterative is way more valuable than trying to launch the ‘perfect’ version later. Ship fast, learn fast, improve fast.

The message is clear: progress beats perfection. In practice, this is how Stakingverse itself has grown — through iteration, responsiveness, and a community-first approach.

Closing Thoughts

The story of Stakingverse mirrors the story of LUKSO itself. What began as a volunteer effort matured into critical infrastructure. Decentralization is protected as fiercely as growth. And staking is understood not just as a technical necessity, but as cultural participation.

As Jordy puts it:

The more people who participate in staking, the stronger and more resilient the network becomes.

For LUKSO’s creative economy to thrive, it needs secure, transparent, and accessible staking at its core. Stakingverse shows how grassroots efforts can grow into exactly that.
