Happy Martin Luther King Day from HSDPA!

The High School Democrats of Pennsylvania would like to wish everyone a happy Martin Luther King Day.

Dr. King served as a key figure of the Civil Rights Movement preaching equality between the races in the mid-20th century of the United States. He led a movement with a platform of peace instead of violence. He used compassion and understanding instead of anger and malice to communicate with those who disagreed with him. His teachings are more relevant than ever in our society today and must be remembered now and forever to ensure that we all live amongst each other while putting an emphasis on togetherness and solidarity instead of divisiveness and discord.

Martin Luther King Jr. will be remembered for his persistence, his dedication, and his passion for ensuring that no one would be judged by anything but by the content of their character. We have made strides and we have made progress, but it is up to us as citizens of the United States to make sure that the dream of Dr. King becomes and stays a reality.
