From Participant to Organizer: My Transformative Journey with Ignite 24

Ignite is the flagship business fest of the BBA program at Christ University, Pune Lavasa Campus, organized by us, the second-year students, for our juniors. The event is divided into committees like HRM, Marketing, Finance, and SMPR, each handling unique responsibilities. Designed to challenge participants’ problem-solving, strategic thinking, and communication skills, Ignite pushes everyone to think critically and showcase their business acumen.

For Ignite 24, I had the opportunity to switch roles and join the logistics team on the organizing committee — an entirely new and enriching experience. Having previously been a participant, stepping into the role of an organizer opened my eyes to the immense effort it takes to run an event of this scale. It was thrilling and challenging, as I quickly learned the importance of detailed planning, rapid problem-solving, and seamless teamwork. Being part of logistics gave me an appreciation for the behind-the-scenes work, from setting up event spaces to coordinating with different teams and ensuring the event ran smoothly.

This role became a masterclass in collaboration and communication. We constantly had to troubleshoot, work under tight deadlines, and adjust plans as new challenges arose. It taught me how to stay calm under pressure and sharpened my organizational skills in ways I hadn’t anticipated.

One of the most rewarding parts of the experience was watching our juniors rise to the challenges. Their enthusiasm, hard work, and determination were inspiring, and it brought back memories of my own first-year Ignite experience. I even had the chance to mentor a few of them, offering guidance on presentation techniques and task management. Seeing the event through a mentor’s perspective made it even more special.

Overall, being part of Ignite 24 as an organizer, rather than just a participant, was a transformative journey. It pushed me out of my comfort zone and gave me a new respect for event management. From learning the value of teamwork to mastering problem-solving under pressure, the lessons I’ve gained from Ignite are ones I will carry with me long after the event is over.
