Celebrating Science

Science does not rush to conclusions, but waits with a candle held to darkness coaxing light from reluctant things. It gave us names for what we feared, the fever, the fault line, the falling star, stripped the monsters from the deep, and left us something stranger, truer.
By its hand we learned to listen to the murmur in the chest, to read the grammar of a cell, to feel the age of stone. It built the bridge, the lens, the vaccine, stitched the broken bone of flight until we slipped the earth’s grip and looked back at our blue inheritance.
And still it asks, why this, why now, what lies beneath, what connects the only discipline that counts, its failures and its method. Not a faith, but something better; a way of being wrong with care, of holding answers loosely, making room for what is there.
