No sweat? Maybe… maybe not?

At €0.89 for the bottle I was practically making money!

Here’s the deal: if I use a product cheap or expensive I expect to use it once and have it work. I’m too damn lazy to be reapplying or topping up or any of that nonsense on a day-to-day basis. So when I spotted Tesco sensitive 48 hour deodorant I thought — cheap and effective. What’s not to like!

It promises 48 hour action — so that’s the normal 9–5 working day covered, less white marks — always a plus and alcohol free — if I can keep that ingredient to my cocktails I’m happier.

Oh no Tesco — how very dare you!

Popped it on full of expectations. No, that’s a lie. I popped it on and got on with my day — I genuinely haven’t been able to think straight first thing in the morning since my childhood so I put it on and got on with my: GET OUT OF THE WAY I’M RUNNING LATE routine.

I have a short walk when I get into work and carry a fairly cumbersome gym bag and that’s when I first thought — that doesn’t feel great. It’s not that anything was technically wrong but I was aware of feeling ‘not so fresh’ ;)

Once I was in the office I decided to top up… not something I would ordinarily do but I was starting to act like a Beagle in the lift sniffing myself. The fear people — the fear.

I’m not that sweaty a person — normal sweat inducing conditions aside so really wtf?

I topped up again after lunch — I was now paranoid.

Maybe it was a bad day? Maybe I thinking about it on some other level and making myself paranoid? So, I have bitten the bullet and tried it out on three other occasions and all I can say is nope. NOPE NOPE NOPE.

I kept the bottle to remind me to do this blog post but it is now resting comfortably in the bin.

I’m not sure who I could recommend this for — I tried it on a normal workday, on a running around town workday and on a lazy Sunday and it failed me three times. Sorry Tesco methinks the formula for this one needs to be reconsidered!
