GATE stands for Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering is an online national level exam conducted for Masters in Technology (MTech), Master of Engineering (ME) and direct PhD admissions to Indian Institutes of Technology (IIT), National Institute of Technology (NIT), Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIIT) and other institutes/universities across India.

GATE Exam is jointly conducted by IIT Delhi, IIT Bombay, IIT Guwahati, IIT Kharagpur, IIT Kanpur, IIT Roorkee, IIT Madras and Indian Institute of Science (IISc) Bangalore, on a rotational basis on behalf of National Coordination Board (NCB — GATE).

GATE Civil Exam Pattern

GATE Civil 2021 exam will be a Computer-Based Test (CBT) consisting of 3 types of questions, Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs), Multiple Select Questions (MSQs), and Numerical Answer Type (NAT) questions. The duration of GATE 2021 exam is 3 hours (180 minutes).

As per GATE Civil Exam Pattern 2021, Engineering Mathematics will carry around 15% of the total marks, General Aptitude section will carry around 15% of the total marks and the remaining about 70% of the total marks is devoted to the subject of the paper.
