Weston Girl Scout Troops Donate 110 Pounds of Cereal to Cleveland Clinic Florida’s Food Drive

Cheerio! Girl Scout Troops 10055 and 10330 from Weston, Florida want to be the lucky charms for peers whose families face food insecurity. They donated more than 110 pounds of cereal to Cleveland Clinic Florida’s cereal drive in hopes that no kid will go hungry this summer. Cleveland Clinic Florida will sort the donations, and the cereal will be given to local food banks. During their hospital visit, the girls also learned about careers in medicine from Katrin Arnolds, MD, an OB/GYN and mom of a Girl Scout.

The Girl Scouts of Southeast Florida recently held their own successful food drive called Feeding Florida Together. Eight hundred forty girls from 82 troops in Broward, Palm Beach, Martin, St. Lucie, Indian River and Okeechobee Counties clocked 327 volunteer hours and donated 6,560 pounds of food to 45 pantries and collection centers.
