Clive and Ifrit in Final Fantasy 16!

Man, I’m glad that kind of power can only be wielded during big bouts!

As far back as I can remember, OP or overpowered amounts of power have always been on a back shelf for obvious in Final Fantasy games. I mean, think about it. If you were to get overpowered or be allowed to take full advantage of great power, there would be no world to save.

This has become evident to me as I play through Final Fantasy 16 as Clive Rosfield, I’ve participated in more than a few battles using Ifrit and it was explosive and I said to myself, “Why can’t this power always be accessible?”

The answer, Ifrit is overpowered and would destroy whatever was in his path. Using Ifrit in big battles like the one I fought last night against Typhon, was a very tiring battle, but I enjoyed every minute of it.

Whatever you do, watch out for Typhon’s Demon Wall. Even using Ifrit, it can be a very hard move to dodge especially when it is coming at you at almost sonic speed.

But you know, I can respect the fact that Ifrit is only a form to take during tough battles because it’s no fun using that kind of power all throughout the game in Ifrit’s form. I like some spice to my gameplay. I like using Clive especially since he has all of the Eikon powers that he does, it’s awesome.

When I fought Typhon last night, I felt like I was trying to keep up especially when it kept doing its move, Unending Clamor; man, that move annoyed me to no end plus getting away from it take a lot of dodging.

I love how Ifrit handles, he doesn’t seem too complicated to maneuver nor are his moves hard to pull off Typhon gave me all I can handle but I kept taking it and the battle raged on.

The only thing about using Ifrit that eludes me is that I can use his fireballs, but not his Hellfire move which I definitely want to do because I would love to set the world on fire using that move not to mention I love the animation that goes into the ball of fire being conjured. Beautiful!

Either way, I’m loving Final Fantasy 16 and it’s really putting me through my paces. Sure, I haven’t unlocked a lot of the trophies in the game but that doesn’t mean that I’m not loving the journey because I so am.

Right now, I’m on my way to Titan capital to break off a piece of Hugo’s ass. I can’t wait to destroy that bastard! Using Clive is just as awesome as using Ifrit, I’ve always taken things in stride so I wasn’t too concerned with using Ifrit more than Clive. The game mechanics are like this for a reason, so again, rolling with the punches.

I just got Ramuh’s Eikon powers not that long ago and I like them but I don’t love them, there are only two moves that are worth a damn and that’s the Pile Drive and the Thunderstorm; that’s it.

I don’t like Blind Justice because it leaves you open to attack easily which makes combos very hard to pull off in succession using Clive. I’d sooner leave it and not use it than risk having to go through all of my potions to recover from the heavy damage I’ll no doubt take.

Also, when you get to a point in the game when you come across the Ahriman, and you will, Thunder is the only thing that does lethal damage to it. I tried using Fire and it just more or less laughs it off. So, consider yourself warned!
