Dream comes true on the Mid-Autumn Festival

Finally, I’m here! Sitting on the beach below the bridge and another in front, under the gorgeous full moon.

A dream comes true is more likely to happen in Christmas, but mine was on Mid-Autumn Festival this year. And it all started on a walking trip earlier in May. (To shorten this post, maybe another story later.)

I’m living on the western side of the Kowloon Peninsula in Hong Kong. I used to travel at least an hour on a bus whenever needed to the other districts via Tuen Mun Road ( a highway). Every time, there is a favourite spot whenever my bus passes by ~ the junction of Ting Kau Bridge. (I wrote some posts related to this fabulous spot before.)

Whether it was on sunny or rainy days, at early morning, sunset or at midnight. Its geometric lines intertwine with those of the Tsing Ma Bridge, always fascinating.

I wondered, could it be magical, too, if I was right underneath? And that’s how I found out on my photo trip in May, I was so close standing on the beach nearby.

Then I wanted more, how about staying in the hotel right below? When I travel at night, viewing the luminance along the bridge, which merge once again to the tiny globes afar… this idea arises.

But first of all, it would be easier to follow the walking trail along the fabulous coastline with the help of this map.

A full moon rises in silence outside our window as a shy little girl ready to bloom soon. Three of us grab our festival treats to start a short walk, following the guidance of the moonlight.

A few minutes from the hotel, we are on the Castle Peak Road towards Lido beach, the one right next to Ting Kau Bridge. The first breathtaking moment is just in front of us, yes! We are coming…

Walking down stairs to the beach, there are already crowded with locals. Everyone is using their cell phone to take this postcard shot, who would ignore it, right? The very first time I’m so close to the ‘red line’, amazing! (My iPhone is too old to catch the stunning red, & it’s far more saturated in real.)

Nothing to complain! With the presence of Miss full moon and our hotel, which runs multicoloured neon light shows on the roof later.

We take our time to immerse ourselves in the joyful spirit around, and there are even beach ball players under the moon. It is the moment for families, lovers & friends to share; a night we can relax in the autumn breeze.

Right in front of the glittering sea, Tsing Ma Bridge is silhouetted by tiny golden globes. An extraordinary tranquillity floating in the dark creates a huge contrast to the red one.

A free moonlight jazz is entertaining, swinging with the rhythm of the wave in slow motion. I lie down without hesitation, close my eyes drown into my utopia of timelessness.
