Learning should be a comprehensive experience, not just books, not just play — a good combination of both books and play. That is what we follow at Pehchaan The Street School to make learning something our students look forward to.​

A day in the life of students at Pehchaan The Street School​

Ikra, one of our students, was excited to visit the Ethiopian cultural centre for an educational and fun visit, and not just her, there were 9 more students. A total of 10 students were taken for the visit from Pehchaan The Street School.​

The purpose of the visit was to introduce the students to a new cultural environment and help them understand it through real-life activities at the Ethiopian cultural centre.​

We organised a total of 3 activities for our students there. First was the drawing session, the students were asked to look around and analyse everything they saw and whatever they felt by looking at the culture, the art; they drew it on a piece of paper. The outcome of the session was beautiful; everyone came up with different art pieces and styles where they drew what they found fascinating.​

Next was the movie screening, and the students were shown a beautiful educational ocean-inspired movie. The movie was based on ocean preservation, marine life and nature discovery, specifically tailored to engage students during a summer break gathering.​

The visit concluded with a pizza-making activity where the head chef of the cultural centre broke down the process into easy, hands-on steps for the students. They were provided with fresh dough and toppings for their pizza. The students slowly and steadily moved their hands as they assembled the pizza. After assembling the pizza, the creations are baked together, and at the end, the students eat together in community their own handmade pizzas.​

Tic Tac Toe with RV Terracotta Pottery​

To add on to our policy of comprehensive learning, RV Terracotta Pottery brought 15 Tic Tac educational play kits to help students learn more about screen-free learning and playing. They visited the Indraprastha Centre on 7th June and taught our students about the importance of screen-free activities. The students were shown how to play with the tic-tac-toe kit. They were recommended other activities which they can replace with their screen time, and that’s how the visit came to an end with fun, knowledge and learning.​
