AFTER THE SUNSET

“HOW is that possible?”

I asked myself after performing Maghrib prayer in the well-known nearest Masjid… The myriad of questions are still toing and froing in my mind, sometimes I feel like bursting into unending crying because the whole nation fails me… It’s not just the nation but the world at large, but specifically the northern part of Nigeria, where I am very proud to be part of it, yes, I am very proud, like the way northerners are proud in the fictitious north of the GOT.

I was disappointed not because I lost the most beloved persons to me, I was disappointed not because we have the worst leaders in the world, I was disappointed not because we suffer from so-called Boko Haram, Bandit and others… I was disappointed because, as northerners, we lost our good habit. We put a sharp knife to our helping hand and the brotherhood of our elders, cutting the helping hand, and only a shadowy hand remains…

When I said ‘Shadowy Hand’, I am referring to the hand of politicians, who are claiming to help the needy and society at large, and they proof theirselves liars a thousand time but we are still following them blindly, some of us can even kill for them. What a lost country!

Dear Northerners, trying to be what you are not is not wise; acting like a western world will not make you wise or educated. You’d better know who you are and the people you are around, promote the good habit and be an example to show the world the good values of your ancestors.

Let us stand together to bring peace together, to help the needy together, to join our hands and hearts in fighting against bad government and to know our differences as a nation so that we live together with peace and unity.
