‘Instead Of Money, I Can Give You Radish’ — Karnatak Farmer’s Response To Bribery Demand

Can’t afford the bribery demand, that’s why a karnataka’s farmer decided to give officials freshly harvested radish from his own farm. The story may sound like bollywood but the protest is head splitting.

Prasanna Kumar, a farmer from Dodderi, took this drastic step on Thursday after the government official failed to build a connecting road to his land.

In response to the Lokayukta order, the Karnataka government took an initiative to improve connectivity across farmland to mitigate delays in agricultural activities.

Prasanna Kumar’s farmland was also a part of that project. But despite several follow-ups, the road has not been built yet, causing trouble in transportation.

He followed up quite a few times. But the officials were alleged to have demanded money from him to catalyse the whole process.

That’s why on Thursday, he was compelled to take such an action, which went viral on social media.

Prasanna said that he also went to the CM and the revenue Minister of Karnataka previously, to issue a letter, stating to act upon further progress. But still nothing fruitful happened.

Though the official alleged that due to the family dispute, the administration remained inactive till now. But after Cm’s order, an 8ft wide asphalt road has been proposed.
